Good Evening Boys & Girls is an expansive 21‑CD box set capturing 16 previously unreleased concert performances from The Sensational Alex Harvey Band, spanning 1973 to the band’s final run with the original lineup. The set documents the group’s legendary live reputation — a band whose myth was built on stagecraft, storytelling, humour, and explosive rock ’n’ roll energy.

Released on 17 April 2026, the collection was created with the full cooperation of Zal Cleminson, Chris Glen, Dave Batchelor, and the estates of Alex Harvey, Ted McKenna, and Hugh McKenna. The box includes a 144‑page hardback book, rare memorabilia, a replica programme, and a signed band photo.

🔘 The Story

Good Evening Boys & Girls is the most comprehensive attempt yet to capture the raw electricity of The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. The set spans performances from the Marquee Club in 1973 through Newcastle, Glasgow, New York, Berlin, and the Reading Festival, culminating in the long‑rumoured Glasgow Apollo Christmas Show of 1975, finally unearthed.

Much of the audio comes from soundboard and radio recordings, remastered by Pete Reynolds to preserve the grit, atmosphere, and unpredictability that defined SAHB’s live presence. The recordings present the band as audiences and crews heard them — unvarnished, elastic, and unmistakably themselves.

The accompanying 144‑page hardback book features rare and unseen photographs, new historical notes, and memorabilia sourced from Ted McKenna’s private archive and the extensive collection of Martin Davies. A replica Glasgow Apollo programme and a signed photo from Zal Cleminson and Chris Glen complete the package.

This release stands as both a definitive document for longtime fans and an invitation for new listeners to experience the theatrical, streetwise, and emotionally charged world of SAHB.
