Marc & Gloria's City Port B-Side
Released as a 7-inch vinyl single in the UK on January 14, 1977, on EMI Records (catalogue: EMI 2572), Marc Bolan & Gloria Jones’ “To Know Him Is To Love Him” — backed with “City Port” — was a soulful glam cover of the 1958 Phil Spector classic. Produced by Marc Bolan, this tender duet showcased Bolan’s softer side and Gloria Jones’ powerful vocals.

The song was penned by Phil Spector, drawing inspiration from the inscription on his father's gravestone, "To Know Him Was to Love Him." It was initially recorded by The Teddy Bears, the sole vocal group he was part of. The single topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three weeks in 1958 and reached No. 2 on the UK's New Musical Express chart. Peter & Gordon and Bobby Vinton later found chart success with the song, retitled and lyrically adjusted to the gender-neutral "To Know You Is to Love You," in 1965 and 1968, respectively.
