THE STORY

David Bowie’s first major career-spanning compilation album, bringing together key tracks from 1969 to 1976. ChangesOneBowie served as the definitive introduction to his rapidly evolving 1970s output for many listeners.

CONTEXT & NOTES

Released at the end of the Thin White Duke era, this compilation included the first LP appearance of the “sax version” of “John, I’m Only Dancing” on initial UK pressings. It also brought previously non-single tracks such as “Ziggy Stardust” and “Suffragette City” to a wider audience.
