1976's Timeless Flight Follow-Up
Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel released White, White Dove backed with Throw Your Soul Down Here as the second and final single from their fourth studio album Timeless Flight on January 30, 1976 by EMI Records catalogue number EMI – EMI 2409.
UK release issued in company sleeve, unlike some of the continental variants.
The song was written and produced by Harley. White, White Dove was issued by EMI Records as a 7-inch single in the UK, Germany, Belgium, Portugal, and Australia.
Certain versions of the single included an edited version, reducing the album version by over a minute. The B-side of the single, Throw Your Soul Down Here, was both written and produced by Harley. It was exclusive to the single until it appeared as a bonus track on the 1991 EMI CD release of Timeless Flight.
The song was recorded at AIR Studios in London after the Timeless Flight sessions and features Herbie Flowers on double bass and B. A. Robertson on piano. To promote the song's release as a single, the band performed the song live on the UK ITV music programme Supersonic.
The single failed to make a chart impression.
