Marc Bolan and Steve Peregrin Took recorded a wonderful session at BBC Studio 1, 201 Piccadilly, London for John Peel’s Top Gear.

The beautifully intimate recordings (with chat) included:

"Stacey Grove"

"One Inch Rock"

"Salamanda Palaganda"

"Eastern Spell"

"Wind Quartets"

First broadcast on July 14th and August 25th 1968, these tracks perfectly capture Tyrannosaurus Rex in their early psychedelic folk-hippie prime — gentle, mystical, and full of charm .A lovely early document of the duo before they evolved into the electric glam phenomenon T. Rex.

These tracks and more can be found on the excellent Universal Music release Marc Bolan At The BBC (Radio Sessions And Broadcasts 1967 -1977).
