THE STORY
“Foxy, Foxy” delivered a stomping glam-rock sound with a strong “Wall of Sound” influence, including a Phil Spector-style beat. The B-side “Trudi's Song” provided a gentler, melodic contrast. Both tracks were produced by the band themselves.ction. Both tracks were written by the core duo Paton and Lyall and reflected the band’s sophisticated pop style.
CONTEXT & NOTES
The single reached No. 33 on the UK charts. It was one of the band’s final releases before major line-up changes later in 1974. In the UK it was issued without a picture sleeve, appearing instead in a standard company bag with the striking orange-to-yellow gradient CBS label.
