Rod Stewart (10 August 1973) – Sing It Again Rod Album

Sing It Again Rod is the first compilation album by Rod Stewart released in 1973.

The album is notable for its Peter Corriston‑designed die‑cut album sleeve (shaped like an old‑fashioned glass, through which a smiling Stewart can be seen).

These photos were from a great show – a typical Faces show with many wine bottles left behind in the dressing rooms. Photographer Steve Azzara lied his way into a backstage pass, shot the photos, then went to work the midnight shift in a photo lab.

In the morning he drove to Manhattan and woke up Rod so he could see the pictures. Rod liked them, gave him Peter Corriston’s phone number and the number of his hotel in Roanoke, Virginia. Azzara was 17 at the time. He was paid $200–$250 and spent it all on copies of the album to give to friends and relatives. It was his first professional work.
