Alice Cooper (July 1, 1991) “Hey Stoopid” - Album LP/TC/CD Release

The twelfth solo studio album (and nineteenth overall) by Alice Cooper, was released on July 1, 1991.

Following the huge success of his 1989 album Trash, Cooper delivered a heavier pop metal record featuring an impressive lineup of guest stars including Slash, Ozzy Osbourne, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, and Vinnie Moore. This was Cooper’s last album with bassist Hugh McDonald before he joined Bon Jovi.

Following the huge success of his 1989 album Trash, Cooper delivered a heavier pop metal record featuring an impressive lineup of guest stars including Slash, Ozzy Osbourne, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Nikki Sixx, Mick Mars, and Vinnie Moore. This was Cooper’s last album with bassist Hugh McDonald before he joined Bon Jovi.

Recorded January–February 1991 at Bearsville Studios (New York) and The Complex (Los Angeles). The album includes the hit singles “Hey Stoopid”, “Love’s a Loaded Gun”, and “Feed My Frankenstein”.

The track “Feed My Frankenstein” notably features Steve Vai and Joe Satriani playing guitar together with Nikki Sixx on bass.

A promotional CD titled Stoopid News was also released featuring 15 bizarre news sound bites read by Alice Cooper.

The album performed strongly in Europe (Top 10 in the UK) but had more modest success in the US compared to Trash. It marked another chapter in Cooper’s successful late-career commercial revival.
