Alice Cooper Groupâs Killer was reissued as a newly remastered album in the US by Rhino/Warner Bros. Records (catalog number R2 695501) on June 9, 2023, with a UK release in July 2023.
The 1971 album peaked at No. 21 on the US Billboard 200 and No. 27 on the UK Albums Chart. Produced by Bob Ezrin, it features singles âUnder My Wheelsâ and âBe My Lover,â alongside tracks like âYeah, Yeah, Yeah,â âDesperado,â and the prog-rock epic âHalo of Flies.â The deluxe edition includes bonus alternate takes of âYou Drive Me Nervous,â âUnder My Wheels,â and âDead Babies,â plus an unreleased live recording from the Mar Y Sol Pop Festival in Puerto Rico on April 2, 1972. This performance, recorded months before Schoolâs Out, previews âPublic Animal #9â and includes most of Killerâs tracks, such as âYou Drive Me Nervous,â âUnder My Wheels,â and âHalo of Flies,â plus Love It to Death cuts like âIs It My Body?,â âLong Way to Go,â and âIâm Eighteen.â Noted in a 2023 Classic Rock review, the reissue highlights the bandâs raw energy and shock-rock innovation. The vinyl edition recreates the original gatefold sleeve with a detachable 1972 calendar featuring Cooper in the gallows.
