In June 1973, The Faces released “Ooh-La-La”, the title track from their final studio album, as a single in the USA. This laid-back, rootsy rocker backed with the energetic “Borstal Boys” captured the band’s loose, boozy charm during the twilight of their career.

THE STORY

“Ooh-La-La” became one of The Faces’ most beloved and enduring tracks, showcasing their warm, ramshackle rock ‘n’ roll style. The single was issued as a promotional tool for the album of the same name, with the promo copies featuring mono mixes and commercial releases in stereo.

CONTEXT & NOTES

This was one of the last singles released by The Faces before the band’s dissolution and Rod Stewart’s full transition to solo stardom. The track “Ooh-La-La” has since become a classic, frequently covered and celebrated as a highlight of the band’s catalogue.
