THE STORY Cherry Red will release Medicine Head: One and One Is One - The Very Best Of, a 17-track CD compiling highlights from the band’s career. The collection includes fan favourites, rare tracks never before available on UK CD (such as “Thou Shalt Not Pass” and “Back To The Wall”), and a cover of Robert Johnson’s “Walking Blues”.
CONTEXT AND NOTES Medicine Head were one of the most successful underground-to-chart crossover acts of the late 1960s and early 1970s. They were John Peel’s favourite band and his best-selling act on the Dandelion label. This new compilation celebrates their unique harmonica-and-guitar sound and marks the first time many of these tracks have been easily available on CD in the UK.
