T. Rex (October 17, 2026) Futuristic Dragon (50th Anniversary Zoetrope Edition) Album: LP PD.
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the late-period T. Rex classic Futuristic Dragon and National Album Day's 2026 celebration of musical icons, Demon Records issued this limited-edition Zoetrope picture disc release.
By the time Marc Bolan and his revitalised T. Rex line-up entered the studio to record Futuristic Dragon, his creative momentum had fully returned. The album showcased a distinctive blend of cosmic soul, adventurous songwriting and post-glam rock that helped establish it as one of the strongest releases from the latter part of Bolan's career.
The album produced the hit singles New York City and Dreamy Lady, while tracks including Jupiter Liar, Chrome Sitar and Ride My Wheels remain among the most celebrated recordings from Bolan's final years.
STYLE & THEMES
Futuristic Dragon combines glam rock, soul, funk and melodic pop influences into a unique and highly imaginative collection.
The album's mixture of driving rock performances, sophisticated arrangements and futuristic imagery reflects Marc Bolan's continuing artistic ambition during the mid-1970s and remains one of the defining recordings of T. Rex's later period.
