Tin Machine – Live: Oy Vey, Baby

  • Hunt Sales – drums, percussion, vocals

  • Eric Schermerhorn – rhythm guitar, backing vocals

Live album capturing the raw power and intensity of Tin Machine during their 1991–1992 It’s My Life Tour. Recorded across multiple nights in North America and Japan, the album presents an unpolished, high-energy document of the band’s final live performances. The deliberately provocative title was a tongue-in-cheek pun on U2’s Achtung Baby, suggested by Hunt Sales.

Notable Details

The album features extended, dynamic live versions of tracks from both Tin Machine studio albums. Standout performances include an 8-minute “Stateside” and a sprawling 12-minute “Heaven’s in Here”. It was recorded at five venues: Orpheum Theatre (Boston, Nov 20 1991), The Academy (New York, late Nov 1991), Riviera Theatre (Chicago, Dec 7 1991), NHK Hall (Tokyo, Feb 1992), and Kouseinenkin Kaikan (Sapporo, Feb 1992).

Mixed by Reeves Gabrels, Max Bisgrove, Tom Dubé, Dave Bianco, and David Bowie. The release was accompanied by a full-length concert video filmed at The Docks in Hamburg on October 24, 1991. This marked the final official release by Tin Machine before the band disbanded and David Bowie returned to his solo career with Black Tie White Noise (1993).
